SRL / ISSDM Annual Research Symposium
The Systems Research Lab (SRL) and the Institute for Scalable Data Management (ISSDM) co-sponsor the annual SRL/ISSDM Research Symposium and UCSC Systems Oktoberfest, held at the Baskin School of Engineering at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC). The Symposium provides an opportunity to learn about the research of the SRL and ISSDM, interact with SRL and ISSDM faculty, graduate students and affiliated researchers at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), and discuss future directions and collaborative research projects at UCSC and LANL. The SRL focus includes research in storage, scalability and system performance management. The ISSDM's collaborative research focus includes projects on petascale storage, scalable data management architectures and algorithms, cosmology, and image understanding. A highlight of the event is the Oktoberfest Barbeque featuring authentic German food and drink prepared by Chefs Scott Brandt and Carlos Maltzahn.
